Over 15 years ago Shilpa realized she had an undeniable love for music. Following her dad's footsteps, she decided to pursue her passion and kickstarted her dj career. Dj Shilpa fuses the Indian genre of bhangra music with international hip-hop and drum beats. She has popularized the traditional-modern bhangra blend, making the genre a part of the club scene. Credited with pioneering Bhangra music in North America, she has made an impact in the South Asian Entertainment industry. Her passion for the artful chemistry of mixing Rap, Jazz, Folk, Rock and contemporary music with traditional melodies have ensured that she is always the most preferred DJ. By far not a one-dimensional DJ, Shilpa delivers a blend of BollyDesi - chunky, rolling, phat tech-house and techno but adapts her sound to any venue setting whether it is underground or commercial.
